"And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Lk. 10:27.

That's how Jesus calls us to Love in Luke. He leads with the heart. And when Jesus is quoted saying this in Matthew (22:37) and Mark (12:30), while the order of things to Love the Lord with is said differently in each instance, one thing that is always the same is that Jesus leads with the heart when He gives the greatest command.

Our hearts, and the keeping of them, is a most tender and sacred matter. Though it's not our only place to go, prayer is one of the very biggest gifts we are offered as one of the places we can go to give our hearts a helpful and beautiful outlet that helps us find rest in our God and direction with our Love. It's an endless avenue to explore and the ebook I've put together is one tool in helping to explore it.

Our emotions are always wanting to put our hearts in motion somehow and the Bible tells us that God created people to "feel their way toward him and find him." (Acts 17:27) I believe it's true that the longings of our hearts can always potentially be used to move us closer to God. The goal doesn't have to be to get our feelings under our feet. Because when we bring our feelings into His presence, there is something so much better than hearts under human control. There is hearts brought into His presence just as they are, where they can know that they are loved in their entirety. His Love alone can free us from the fears that want to drive us. And we are continually needing to bring our hearts back to the beauty of it.

The booklet I'm excited to give to those who support and subscribe to my blog, considers the ways that people in the Bible brought their feelings in prayer, as well as guiding in some simple prayer rhythms that can be uniquely applied in practice.

I hope the heart-keeping ebook is a gift to your own heart as you seek after truest Love, Himself.

It comes as a PDF that you can either download to interact with electronically or print out and use with a pencil.
